Get Ready to Roper Romp in the Junction – Saturday August 23rd

Break out your brightest caftans, chunky jewelry, and—of course—that iconic red curly wig, because West Seattle is about to get fabulous! The Roper Romp is happening this Saturday, August 23rd, and the Junction will be alive with color, laughter, and community spirit.

Inspired by the nationwide Mrs. Roper movement and brought to life by local resident Kiersten Larson, the Romp is all about celebrating joy, self-expression, and togetherness. The evening kicks off at 5:30 PM in Junction Plaza Park with a big group photo, then the Romp will spill into participating restaurants and bars throughout the Junction.

It’s not just a costume party—it’s a community celebration. Think disco-meets-neighborhood block party, where you can sip, dance, mingle, and enjoy the fun of dressing up with your friends and neighbors. Whether you’re rocking a full-on caftan look or just joining to enjoy the spectacle, everyone’s welcome.
