10 Year Anniversary of Record Store Day
Easy Street Records Saturday, April 22nd 7am SHARP Opening This year marks the 10-year anniversary of Record Store Day, and the RSD17 list of releases is bigger and better than ever! Record Store Day lands on April 22nd this year, and as usual, Easy Street Records will be open bright & early at 7am, so you can get the jump on the goods! And yes, bacon and Caffe Vita coffee will once again be provided to those early birds in line! This week, the folks behind Record Store Day unveiled the official list of releases, and it’s a doozy! A small sampling: Alice In Chains 7″, Pearl Jam 7″, two new Bowie LPs, 4-LP live Springsteen set, Cheap Trick box, two Cure picture discs, Doors live album, Jason Isbell covers EP, Iggy Pop w/Josh Homme live album, Stevie Ray Vaughan Live At Carnegie Hall, a Ramones singles box, Lou Reed live album, Sunny Day Real Estate double LP, a Wipers 7″, Neil Young’s triple greatest hits LP, Decade, Black Lips cassette box set, a new song by The War On Drugs on 7″, a reissue of the Space Jam soundtrack (!!!), and so much more. There’s everything from MDC to Bert Jansch, from Johnny Cash’s children’s album to Wes Montgomery Live In Seattle, from The Meters’ triple LP to the 1st studio recordings ever from Pink Floyd (on picture disc!), and from Andre 3000 covering the Beatles to a 7″ with unreleased Smiths songs.
