Join Sustainable West Seattle at GreenLife, a public space where topics of local sustainability can be demonstrated and realized. Located at Junction Plaza Park, the Greenlife festival offers 3 days of demonstrations and presentations to inspire more sustainable living.

This year we will be focused on “Save the Orcas and the Salish Sea”

Greenlife 2018 is sponsored by Verity Credit Union, Alki Bike and Board, West Seattle Nursery, West Seattle Electric and Solar, PCC Natural Markets, Full Circle Farms, Resting Waters and Waste Management. While attending the Greenlife festival people will see the Virtual Salish Sea exhibition which will take you under Puget Sound waters through the use of 3D, virtual reality. Goggles.  There will be a Orca ride for the kids as well as booths sharing what they have learned about living sustainably in our city and on our planet.

On Saturday July 14th at 12 noon Sustainable West Seattle will sponsor a public forum with Governor Jay Inslee’s Orca Recovery Task Force.

Each day of the Greenlife Festival will have a theme starting on Friday with “What can we do as individuals” featuring an opening ceremony with the Duwamish tribal leaders and a focus on the health of the Puget Sound and our effect on it. Saturday is all about taking action with “legislative actions” featuring the Orca Recovery Task Force starting at noon.  And Sunday will culminate with a “Solutions already working” theme, starting at noon. The marine mammal rescue team SR3 and the Marine Mammal ambulance will be on display.

There is much to be discussed and learned in our efforts to create and implement sustainable solutions. Please come join us and if you wish to help with this opportunity to engage the public. You can volunteer by emailing stu@sustainablewestseattle.org
