[caption id="attachment_2261" align="alignright" width="240" caption="Photo: Donna Ryan Photography"][/caption] What do you like about doing business in The Junction? I like the diversity of businesses. In my industry (product design), I look for trends. Mainly colors, fashion that sort of thing. We have such a wide, interesting variety of people, from teenagers to seniors. I love watching people interact here. Who are you customers? Our customers vary. We have everything from action sports industries (Flow Snowboards), audio and electronics (DGA), to games and toys manufacturers (Disney and Pixar). What is something about your business that I might not have known? We develop products for entrepreneurs, inventors and small to medium corporations. We specialize in product development and design, provide engineering and product management services, 3-D design, mechanical engineering and packaging services. Who is your role model? Steve Jobs, product development guru! He has mastered the ability to take an idea and develop a product into a family of products. He has an amazing capacity for identifying potential growth for business in the market. What are the challenges of owning an independent business? Trying to balance my work load and being able to respond to clients’ needs in a timely manner. What do you enjoy in your free time? I enjoy skateboarding, snowboarding, mountain biking and hanging out with my family. What other Junction shops do you like to patron? My favorites include: Lee’s Asian, Curious KidStuff, Husky Deli and Easy Street. What do you love about West Seattle? I love that it feels like we are on our own little island! We are part of the city, but not directly in it. We have great restaurants and culture. It is a unique blend of style set to our own pace. What sort of music do you listen to? I like really avant-garde music like Kinski, The Valley and These Arms are Snakes. Indie Rock like 8 Legs to Nowhere (my band!) is on the cutting edge.
