New Music Series in the Junction
HELP SUPPORT MUSICIANS AND BRING MUSIC TO THE WEST SEATTLE JUNCTION Imagine you are musician. You like performing and people enjoy your music. Others enjoy your music so much they invite you to perform again – but just for tips. That can be pretty frustrating. Musicians can’t live on tips. We want to help them make a living and have a twofold win-win vision in mind—to provide a venue where they can provide music that will entertain and complement the artistic community, while giving them an opportunity to be paid for sharing their time and talents. But fulfilling the vision requires funding. And you can help. We’d like to have the ability to pay performers at least $125 (and preferably more) for each appearance. Music is underway to bring live performances to the West Seattle Junction on Second Thursday Art Walk nights during August through December, for the benefit of visitors for Thursday Art Walks, dining, and just the opportunity to enjoy entertainment. Will you please make a contribution? Every donation, regardless of amount, will make a difference! You’ll be supporting musicians and the arts. A minimum goal of $800 from Go Fund Me donations has been established; if we can raise more, performers could be paid more than $150 per event. (And if funds raised through Go Fund Me for this music series exceed the amount needed to support 2019 performances and related expenses they will be used towards anticipated costs related to presenting additional music performances in 2020.) Funds will be used for paying performing musicians and other expenses related to producing, promoting and presenting the performances in the West Seattle Junction. You can donate through the secure Crowdfund link. Thank you for considering this opportunity to participate as a benefactor! Update August 12, 2019 – Thank you for the generous $700 grant from the City of Seattle Office of Arts and Culture. Through your support, the Art of Music will continue through 2019.
