Geisha Tattoo and asked him a few questions about his beloved profession of tattooing and West Seattle. Here’s what he had to say: What do you love about tattooing? I love that it’s challenging and never the same. I love that I can take someone’s fledgling idea and turn it into something more than they ever imagined. And I love that a part of me through my art, will live on in the client for the rest of their life. What do you like/love about West Seattle? I like the area, but I love how loyal the residents are to local business and the real feeling of community. What do you want the people of West Seattle to know about you/your shop? I know the stigma attached to tattoo shops and the industry in general, some of it well deserved. But I would like people to know that we are not the atypical tattoo shop. We are an all custom shop, preferring to design each tattoo specifically for each client and also focusing on overall vibe and customer service. The experience is everything. There is nothing to fear at Blue Geisha Tattoo, we cater to the novice as well as the collector, and look forward to being a part of the community for years to come. No ego, no attitude, just good tattooing. Anything personal/interesting/funny you want to add? I have been tattooing since 1989 and cut my teeth on the Sunset Strip in Hollywood, CA. I apprenticed at Sunset Strip Tattoo and watched everyone from Motley Crue to Guns and Roses come through the shop. I have seen a lot of different styles of tattooing come and go and worked with many of the industry’s finest. I have learned a great deal in that time and have cultivated and distilled it down into this little custom shop, in an old house in the Junction.
