Join fellow neighbors and businesses for the 4th Annual West Seattle Junction Spring Clean Saturday, May 2nd, 9 am to Noon.

The Junction QFC will supply breakfast and coffee to start your day. Cleaning supplies supported by Seattle Public Utilities, and a nifty volunteer lunch tote from your Junction merchants.

Activities include picking up litter, stenciling storm drains to prevent water pollution, painting out graffiti, removing invasive plants, and more. Seattle Public Utilities and the Junction Association supports volunteers by providing free tools like garbage bags, gloves, garbage grabbers, safety vests, and paint supplies.

Grab a group of people! It’s a perfect time for organizations, businesses or groups to work together on a volunteer project.

There’s something for everyone, kids included! Meet at Junction Plaza Park (42nd and Alaska St). No pre-registration necessary, just show up and be ready to dig in.

It’s time to apply to become a vendor or food vendor at the best festival in West Seattle – Summer Fest.

Our 3-day street festival is presented by the West Seattle Junction Association is a party for the neighborhood and attracts over 30,000 people of all age groups and income levels. In addition to more than 160 vendor booths we also offer a massive kids area, food vendors, a main-stage with beer garden, community stage and south end wooden instrument stage, and sidewalk café seating at all the local restaurants.

Sales have been officially EXTENDED to 8 pm! Summer Fest is the ONLY festival that has three days of vending, that’s over 28 hours! We hope you’ll be able to join us.

Booth and other participation fees will be collected when you are accepted to the festival. Submission of an application does not assure you a space in the festival.

The West Seattle Wine Walk celebrates wine with this vibrant and fun event. Located in the heart of West Seattle, the Wine Walk provides you with the opportunity to meet the boutique wineries around the Pacific Northwest.

Housed in some of West Seattle’s favorite merchants, you’ll enjoy tastings from 17 different wineries (and one cidery), each showcasing a unique variety of wines.

Bottles of wine and additional individual wine tasting tickets will available to ticket holders. You can drop off bottles of wine at the valet located at Junction John L. Scott or (NEW!) watch for the mobile wine valets. Additional Wine Walk tasting tickets will be available at Junction John L. Scott for $1.00 per ticket. Part Time

Plans and coordinates events, vendors, and programs for the West Seattle Junction Association, including fundraising, budgeting, bookkeeping and community outreach.

Develops and implements programs that align with the organization’s mission and support the organization’s goals.

Creates program materials, establishes volunteer requirements, and ensures that program achieves stated objectives.

Identifies business mix and opportunities for incoming business owners.

Hires key beer garden festival staff for organizational premiere event – Summer Fest.

Will be responsible for special events that publicize the organization and its programs to the community.

Reports to the Executive Director.

Some weekends and evenings required.

Act as liaison between potential incoming businesses and landlords

Job Brief

The West Seattle Junction Association, a BIA is looking for a competent Program Coordinator to undertake a variety of administrative and program management tasks. You will help in planning and organizing programs and activities as well as carry out operational and administrative duties assigned by the Executive Director.

To be an excellent program coordinator, you must be organized and detail-oriented, comfortable working with a diverse volunteer team, and able to communicate effectively under pressure.

The goal will be to facilitate the effective management of programs according to the organization’s standards.

Major programs include: Summer Fest, Harvest Fest, monthly Art Walk, Hometown Holidays, Wine Walk, .5K, Night Market, PAWrade and other events as assigned.

Responsibilities

Support planning and coordination of major programs, events and its activities

Ensure implementation of policies and practices

Maintain budget and track expenditures/transactions

Manage communications through media relations, social media etc.

Help build positive relations within the organization and external parties

Schedule and organize meetings/events and maintain agenda

Ensure technology is used correctly for all operations

Prepare paperwork and order material

Keep updated records and create reports or proposals

Support growth and program development

Requirements

Proven experience as program coordinator or relevant position

Knowledge of program management and development procedures

Knowledge of budgeting, bookkeeping and reporting

Tech savvy, proficient in MS Office

Ability to work with diversity and multi-disciplinary teams and volunteers

Excellent time-management and organizational skills

Outstanding verbal and written communication skills

Detail-oriented and efficient

BSc/BA in business administration or relevant experience

Harvest Fest Fun Starts Here

Harvest Fest is Sunday, October 27th, 10 AM to 2 PM. There are crowns to be made, hoops to be hoola’d, wheels to be spun and plenty of fun games and treats! See the map for all of the fun. You can right-click to save too!

 

Create King and Queen crowns

Decorate tea-light lanterns with leaves, glitter, etc. and put the handles on. Made out of school milk cartons!

Turkey hands: kids will draw their hands and paint them to look like turkeys.

On October 27th, 2019, our organization the West Seattle Junction Association will be producing a special event in the West Seattle Junction Alaska neighborhood called Harvest Fest. The West Seattle Junction Alaska Neighborhood has been chosen as the location for this event because we have held the event in the Junction for eight years and is in the heart of West Seattle. We are thrilled to be guests in your neighborhood and it’s important to us that we are communicating clearly with you, the neighbors.

EVENT DESCRIPTION:
• Event hours are from 10 AM to 2 PM on Sunday, October 27th, 2019.
• We will be loading in beginning at 7 AM on 10/27/19 and will load out until 4 PM on 10/27/19.
• We will leave your neighborhood as we found it: litter and recycling will be handled by volunteers.
• During the event hours, we expect between 3,000 to 7,000 attendees that day.
• Streets may be closed or have limited vehicle and/or pedestrian access between the hours of 6 AM on 10/27/19 through 5 PM on 10/27/19. See the attached map for specifics Site Map HF_V.3_2018
• We will have an amplified sound during the hours of 11:30 AM to 12:00 PM on 10/27/17.
