WSOM Presents The Rocky Horror Picture Show
Posted on: August 20, 2015
Saturday, August 22nd, we will be celebrating the grand finale to an amazing season of West Seattle Outdoor Movies with the film that defined the term “cult classic”. We’re excited to present The Rocky Horror Picture Show (1975, R) in all its live glory for a special one-night-only show!
The film is celebrating its 40th anniversary this August, and since it’s retirement from the Admiral Theater last November, we thought that is was only fitting that we bring the complete Rocky Horror experience back to West Seattle.
What is the complete experience you might be asking? It includes our official Dr. Frank-N-Furter master of ceremonies, pre-show entertainment, and of course audience partici-(SAY IT!)-pation in the form of callbacks during specific movie scenes, dressing up as favorite characters, props, and much more. Audience members are encouraged to participate as much or as little as they like, so feel free to go all out – or just come to see what it’s all about! The movie will start at dusk (gates open at 6:30pm). It will be held in the courtyard between Hotwire Online Coffeehouse and Dr. Wolff, Aesthetic and Family Dentistry at 4410 California Ave. SW. We do encourage all movie-goers to arrive no later than 7:30pm for this special event. There will be concessions by The Southwest Historical Society and pre-show entertainment by comedians Rick Taylor and Mike Coletta. TapSnap, the photobooth folks, will also be there with backdrops and props to capture the moment. Our featured charities for the evening are the Furry Faces Foundation and the Animal Aid and Rescue Foundation, so bring cash for the evening raffle! All proceeds will benefit these two charities. Furry Faces is also planning an amazing and unique grand prize from the raffle. The winner will receive VIP access to their own “urban campsite” where they will be treated to hotdogs and their own private viewing area for the show. This is a prize unlike any other we’ve offered and will surely make the winner the envy of all the audience!West Seattle Outdoor Movies presents The Rocky Horror Picture Show
