Pear-Fect Pie vs. Cake Contest Featuring Washington State Pears at West Seattle Farmers Market, Sunday, October 23rd from 10am to Noon! Which is better—Cake or Pie? Contestants will be featuring their favorite pie or cake recipe featuring luscious local pears. Dessert entries will show up at 10 am (Deadline for entry was 10/7 and all slots are filled). Judges will taste and judge between 10 am and noon. Once the judging is complete, tastes of all the goodies will be available to the general public in exchange for a donation to the West Seattle Food Bank. Judges are: Jessie Oleson, CakeSpy, Jenise Silva, Seattlest, founder of Cake vs. Pie, Myra Kohn, Recipe Box columnist for Edible Seattle, Jill Lightner, Editor of Edible Seattle The West Seattle Farmers Market takes place every Sunday, rain or shine,  in The Junction on the corner of California and Alaska, in the parking lot behind Key Bank.
