Nine Local Favorites Face Off at the Annual Chili Cookoff During Harvest Fest

West Seattle’s spiciest showdown is back! 🌶️ The West Seattle Food Bank’s Annual Chili Cookoff returns Sunday, October 26th, as part of the West Seattle Junction Association’s Harvest Fest, bringing together nine local favorites competing for the title of Best Chili in West Seattle.

For just $20, you’ll get a flight of nine chili samples—one from each competitor—plus a voting token to crown your community favorite. Every dollar raised supports West Seattle Food Bank programs that fight hunger and prevent homelessness right here in our neighborhood.

A huge shoutout to ArtsWest for keeping things cozy! This year, chili will be served inside the ArtsWest lobby to stay warm and tasty, while payment, tasting, and voting all happen outside in the heart of Harvest Fest.

Every bite makes a difference. The West Seattle Food Bank provides essential food, housing, and financial assistance to thousands of neighbors each year:

  • 2.2 million pounds of food distributed through onsite, mobile, and home delivery programs.

  • 14,656 weekend meals provided to local students through the Backpack Program—a 63% increase over FY24.

  • 726 households received rent and utility support, helping 1,774 individuals stay safely housed.
