Be a part of Junction history and celebrate Cinco de Mayo at Taqueria Guaymas!
Come be a part of Junction history by dining at Taqueria Guaymas for their 18th Cinco De Mayo! Taqueria Guaymas opened its doors on May 9, 1992, changing West Seattle’s, perception of Mexican food. Upon signing the lease for their beloved 4719 California Ave SW location, Salvador “Porres” Sahagun and Lorenzo “Lencho” Ramos where faced with a dilemma: A vast majority of the Mexican restaurants where all “Tex-Mex” sit down style. Realizing this type of store was all too common in Seattle, they decided upon a southern California style authentic taqueria (Taqueria- Traditional Mexican fast-food restaurants, specializing in soft tacos) that also served burritos. The customer would walk up to the register, order a meal, and sit down and within five minutes they would be served a huge authentic meal at a reasonable price. It was risky, but as with all good businesses, risks must be taken to see results. Today, Taqueria Guaymas has twelve locations, including four bars. Salvador manages the main chain while Lorenzo currently owns and operates the Shoreline location. Salvador is about to celebrate his 30th wedding anniversary with his wife Tracy while Lorenzo is celebrating a long, happy marriage with his wife Rosa. We are now calling upon as many fans of The Junction to come join us for our 18th Cinco De Mayo! *Photo: Taqueria Guaymas]]>
