Holiday Traditions from Bakery Nouveau in West Seattle

For the faithful, this is a time for reflection and celebration. It’s  a time to be with family and friends, as well as the exchanging of gifts and showing appreciation for those around us and those we care about. This is also a season for food. And one that we really enjoy here at Bakery Nouveau. Not only do we get to play with more flavors, but we also get to really focus on decorations, making several items centerpiece worthy in appearance. In addition to our classic Stollen and our delightful cookie plate, we are featuring four kinds of Bûche de Noël, Peppermint Cheesecake, and of course, our buttery brioche rolls and perfect-for-coffee holiday rolls. Click here for a full list of holiday specialties. ‘What is a Stollen?’ you might ask. Stollen is a traditional German Christmas Bread. Ours has rum soaked dried fruit, slivered almonds and a layer of marzipan blended with almond butter. Dipped in rum-butter and coated with a generous dusting of powdered sugar, Stollen is perfect to snack on throughout Christmas morning, and has become one of our favorite holiday breads. All of our holiday items are available now, and can be ordered with a minimum of 48 hrs notice. We will accepting orders for Christmas Eve up until December 20th.  Please note we will close at 5 pm on Christmas Eve, and remain closed both Christmas Day and the 26th.  We will reopen at regular hours on the 27th. Attending a party? Our Stollen, cookie plates and confections all make for lovely host or hostess gifts.  They also pair well with a variety of after dinner drinks and coffee.  If you’re in charge of dessert, any of our Bûche de Noël or the Peppermint Cheesecake make for a unique seasonal presentation- not to mention they are delicious!
