Eat Local for the Holidays – Sunday, November 6th, 11am – 2pm, at West Seattle Farmers Market!
Celebrate our bountiful Pacific Northwest harvests, and the special, seasonal foods on our farm tables. Watch cooking demos by local gourmet chefs and learn tips for creating a fabulous, locally-derived feast for Thanksgiving and the upcoming holiday season. If you’re a regular farmers market shopper, give yourself a 100 mile challenge for your Thanksgiving table! Or if you’re new to local eating, try incorporating one beautiful, locally-sourced dish to the menu, and take the Puget Sound Fresh Pledge.
11:00 am- Noon – Jeremy McLachlan of Salty’s on Alki demonstrates his favorite seasonal holiday recipes.
12:30-1:30 pm – Laurie Pflazer of Pastry Craft shows market shoppers how to make excellent desserts using local, seasonal ingredients.
Our Market Farmers provide us with excellent in-season winter squashes, pumpkins, potatoes and other root vegetables, hearty winter greens and other fall vegetables, pastured and organic meats and turkeys, hams, artisan cheeses, cider, wines and heirloom apples and pears. Join us and make the most of these wonderful ingredients at your own holiday feasts and gatherings.
The West Seattle Farmers Market takes place every Sunday – year round – rain or shine – in the Junction. The market is located outdoors at the corner of California and Alaska in the parking lot behind Key Bank. Hours are 10 am – 2 pm.
