West Seattle Outdoor Movies presents Fantastic Mr. Fox this Saturday, July 31st starting at dusk (we recommend showing up around 6:30-7 to get a spot). The movie plays in the courtyard between Hotwire Coffee & Dr. Wolff’s Office, 4410 California Ave SW. Bring your chair or blanket to stretch out on and a non-perishable food item for the food banks. There will be live music and lots of fun!

What do you like about doing business in The Junction?

It is convenient for my clients and it is nice to see familiar faces every day when I take walks. I really like being located here where there are so many things happening. It is possible to walk and take care of my business tasks and then there are also fun events to walk to like the Art Walk and several nice restaurants.

How many years have you been in business?

I am now in my sixth year of business, all of it right here in The Junction.

Who are you customers?

Many of them live right here in West Seattle. I help people who are looking for natural alternatives to get well and stay well. My clients are people who value having good health and want to know how to prevent disease and stay healthy. I work with people who have a variety of symptoms such as, but not limited to, hormonal imbalance, blood sugar imbalance, gastrointestinal distress, headaches, pain, fatigue, frequent colds, food allergies, elevated cholesterol, high blood pressure and muscular tension.

What do you like about owning your own business?

I get to help other people. I work on things that I am passionate about and value. Everyday I create something new.

Tell me something about your business that I might not have known?

Along with naturopathic care, I also do Massage, CranioSacral Therapy and Visceral Manipulation. My clients find these manual therapies to be very helpful in reducing pain, relieving stress and restoring healthy function to the musculoskeletal body, the nervous system and the organs.

Who is your role model?

I have several but the late Dr. Bill Mitchell, ND who was a founder of Bastyr University is one that I admire greatly. He was an amazing Naturopathic Doctor, teacher and a very compassionate person.

What do you enjoy in your free time?

I love to dance! Right here in West Seattle there are great opportunities to learn west coast swing, east coast swing, waltz and fox trot. I like taking lessons at Highland park Improvement Club taught by Dance for Joy, lessons through the Seattle Swing Dance Club (SSDC) that meet at Alki Masonic Temple and there are dances at the SSDC and also at Hiawatha Community Center every second Saturday night..

If you live in West Seattle, how long?

I have been in West Seattle for over 23 years. I moved here from Oregon and realized right away this was the best place to be in Seattle!

Side Show opens July 21st at ArtsWest!

ArtsWest’s Summer Musical Theatre Apprenticeship Program presents Side Show, opening Wednesday, July 21st!

Side Show by Bill Russell (book and lyrics) and Henry Krieger (music), “is a beloved cult musical inspired by the true story of conjoined twins Daisy and Violet Hilton.”

The performance features actors ages 16-21 and runs through August 1st. Tickets are only $15 and only $10 for folks under age 25. Be sure to check it out!

Seattle Farmers Market. Chef Jeremy plans to pump up the energy at his demo by incorporating audience participation and impromptu ingredient selections. Focusing on Washington’s delicious summer berries, Jeremy will bring his enthusiasm for the Pacific Northwest’s bounty of delicious local ingredients to West Seattle in what is sure to be a fun-filled market event! The cooking demo is free and open to the public and begins at 11:00 am under the market’s special events tent.
