Click! Celebrates its 11th Anniversary

Click! Design That Fits is celebrating its 11th anniversary! In the words of our friends at Click, “That’s like, a fifth grade child. We’re almost in junior high, you guys!”.

Click! started out in a small house in the Admiral District, and has grown into its spacious location in the heart of the West Seattle Junction. This anniversary also marks Clicks! five year anniversary in their current location. In those five years, they have consistently brought a well-curated mix of products featuring equal parts function and beauty to the Junction neighborhood.

Click anniversary

Their goal has been the same throughout their 11 years of business. In the words of Frances, Click! co-founder and creative director: “We believe that everyday objects should be conscientiously made, functional, and should contribute beauty to daily life. The works we choose by select designers and artisans impress and inspire us in these ways.”‘

Click anniversary

Click! would like to invite you to their anniversary party this Saturday, October 10th, from 5-8p. As a thank you, all in-stock items will be 20% off (except for our featured artwork) during the party. West Seattle Gear Grab

Announcing The First Annual West Seattle Gear Grab / Saturday Sept 19th
*
The Premier West Seattle Specialty Gear Shops Clearance Event*

Gear Grab

Surrounded by water and bisected by trails, West Seattle is seeing a surge in not only the population base, but in the number of independent specialty outdoor shops calling this neighborhood its home. If your thing is catching sea run cutthroats off Lincoln park, cycle commuting to get your workout in as you slog through the work week, SUPing and kayaking with resident harbor seals off Duwamish head, or heading up to ski and snowboard in the Cascades – this is an event not to miss!

Mountain to Sound Outfitters, Emerald Water Anglers, and West Seattle Cyclery are joining together on Saturday Sept 19th from 10-4 for a flea market style Gear Grab. Each shop will be clearing out their storage spaces, back shops, and selling demo gear to get ready for the upcoming winter season and keep the retail wheels rolling. The West Seattle Junction Association will be providing the site for the Gear Grab at the North end of the Parking Lot at Oregon and 42nd (across from Emerald Water Anglers). Deals will be had, and this will event will occur rain or shine.

Emerald Water Anglers Manager, Reid Curry, is excited for the event and the opportunity to share his passion with customers. “We are incredibly lucky in West Seattle to be literally surrounded by year round fly fishing opportunities for a diversity of species.  Within just an hour of our shop, a fly angler can fish the saltwater of Puget Sound for salmon and sea run cutthroat one day, catch native cutthroat and rainbows in tiny mountain creeks the next, and swing a fly for steelhead on our renowned rivers thereafter…and that is only the beginning of the fly angling opportunities in our region.”

So come out and celebrate the amazing area we live in and support your local specialty shops which call The Junction and Triangle neighborhoods of West Seattle home!

Saturday, September 19 / 10 to 4pm / Parking lot at Corner of Oregon and 42nd Ave SW.

Zucchini 500 at the West Seattle Farmers Market

Join the West Seattle Farmers Market for the Zucchini 500 this Sunday, September 13th, from 11am – 1pm!

Zucchini 500

The Neighborhood Farmers Markets’ Annual Zucchini 500 Races have been a Seattle tradition for over a decade! The 2015 races have been made possible by a generous sponsorship from Pagliacci Pizza. Each race will be accompanied by the opportunity to learn how to hand-toss pizza dough, just like they do at Pagliacci.

Kids of all ages are invited to build and decorate their own unique zucchini car, then race against the other vegetable roadsters! The event is free and open to the public. All necessary materials are provided.

Fermentation

Also join the West Seattle Farmers Market for Fermentation on Wheels this Sunday at the Market. Fermentation on Wheels is a traveling culinary research hub with a mission to harvest & preserve, encourage sustainability, and teach fermentation.

Tara Whitsitt, founder of Fermentation on Wheels, will be on site at the market to teach a Wild Vegetable Fermentation Workshop and Starter Culture Swap inside her converted 1986 International Harvest school bus!

This workshop is process-based and hands-on, with a focus on culinary creativity and troubleshooting guidance. Followed by a brief forum on starter cultures and tour of the bus.
